International Service Projects
Making the world a smaller, friendly place through international service
Kenyan Projects - For many years, Oshkosh Rotary Southwest has worked with African citizens in the area around Machacos, Kenya. Past projects have included rural electrification and providing running water,
Peruvian Projects - The club has worked in and around Lima, Peru for many years now, starting by working with an orphanage to assist hundreds of children by providing funding and on-site assistance to the orphanage. The club's current projects in Peru are focused on the installation and supply of "Soy Cow" machines which produce a healthy milk substitute from soybeans. The five soy cows currently provide thousands of servings of soy milk per day.
- Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange - For almost 30 years, the Club and its members have been sponsoring and hosting foreign exchange high school-age students from abroad for a year in the U.S.
- Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange - The Club recruits American students to spend a year studying in a foreign country in the sponsorship of another Rotary club.
- Sponsorship of Student Attendance at World Affairs Seminar - Each July, the Club sponsors four Oshkosh high school students to attend a World Affairs Seminar at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater campus.
- Host Flying Rotarians in a picnic at the EAA Air Venture Convention - Each year, in partnership with the other two Oshkosh Rotary clubs, the Club hosts Rotarians from all over the world to a picnic with a special guest speaker at the annual EAA Convention.
